Description
The Pokari Project is a group of artisans, farmers and scientists who aim to restore the value of sheep’s wool.
At “The Pokari Project” we believe that any sheep’s wool is a valuable raw material if used in the right way. It is a natural product with multiple physical and other properties as well as applications. Among other things it is heat and sound insulating, breathable, windproof and with proper treatment relatively waterproof. It is also a biodegradable and skin-friendly material. It has been used traditionally and is still used today in construction, in the textile industry, as a filling for quilts, mattresses and pillows and in agriculture as a natural fertiliser. At the same time lanolin, the natural fat of wool, is used in the pharmaceutical industry and in the manufacture of natural cosmetics.
