The Sea Buckthorn is a thorny shrub that grows near rivers and in sandy soil. It is used for centuries in traditional medical applications.

 

USES

Large amounts of calcium, magnesium and potassium contained in the leaves of the Sea Buckthorn. As well as beta- caroten , flavonoids, lycopene , folic acid, polyphenols, catechins , ferulic acid, salicyclic acid, vitamin E, and ellagic acid.
The tea is usually used for reducing the pressure, reducing cholesterol and increasing fertility .
The Tea of Sea Buckthorn leaves could be used to heal sunburn and to reduce possible swelling , inflammation and accelerate healing. Scientific studies show that has antibiotic activity.
The dried leaves of the Sea Buckthorn produce a very healthy and nutritious beverage. The leaves contain up to 24 % protein.

 

HOW TO PREPARE THE TEA
Use 1 teaspoon of leaves for one cup. Boil water in a kettle, and in another pan put the leaves, pour the water from the kettle in the pan with the leaves and cover. Allow about 7 minutes and then serve.

The Sea Buckthorn tea could be mixed with greek sage or mountain tea, greek wild peppermint, cinnamon, cloves or ginger.
Also perfect mix made with dried lemon peel or orange.
